Kristi Murrin - CHom, RYT, Ayurvedic Lifestyles Consultant
🙏 Kristi Murrin: Integrating Movement, Science, and Healing
Kristi Murrin is a well-known professional yoga instructor and a cornerstone of the wellness community, having taught yoga professionally for over 15 years.
Kristi’s personal journey in wellness began when she moved from West Virginia to Colorado in 1990. A visit to an acupuncturist for chronic back pain led her to an Iyengar Yoga class in 1993. For the next 12 years, she was dedicated to the alignment-based Iyengar method, knowing from that first week that yoga would be an essential part of her life.
🎓 Education in Science & Healing Arts
Her growing interest in the healing arts led her to Boulder, CO, in 1993 to begin her studies in Homeopathy at the International School of Homeopathy. Over four years, she completed a certification program to become a Certified Homeopathic Consultant (CHom).
Simultaneously, Kristi continued her formal education at the University of Colorado, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. This unique combination of scientific discipline and holistic healing forms the foundation of her practice today.
🌍 Adventure and Teaching
Kristi's passion for adventure and travel led her to a six-year teaching position at the World Class Kayak Academy. This traveling high school caters to advanced teenage whitewater kayakers. Although she had been practicing yoga since 1993, she began informally teaching yoga to the students while traveling, alongside math and science. She explored destinations worldwide, including Africa, China, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, and across the US.
🧘♀️ Professional Yoga & Ayurveda Credentials
Kristi holds well over 1,500 hours of training in yoga and yogic healing arts. She has developed and successfully led four cohorts of her own Yoga Alliance-certified 200-hour Teacher Training program, graduating 24 new teachers.
As Kristi’s personal practice evolved, she began to venture beyond Iyengar, seeking styles that integrated more movement and flow. Drawn by her love of dance, she discovered the Vinyasa style.
First Certification: In 2011, Kristi traveled to Bali to study Vinyasa Flow with the School of Sacred Arts (SOSA) and received her first 200-hour teaching certification, officially launching her professional career.
Prana Flow: Her pursuit of expressive movement led her to Shiva Rea, the creator and founder of Prana Flow©. Kristi has since accrued over 300 hours of training in this vinyasa style, which masterfully integrates natural body movement with the alignment of breath and asana.
Ayurveda & Ayuryoga: Her most recent studies have focused on the ancient teachings of Ayurveda—the art of living in harmony with the five elements of nature. She has successfully completed her 500-hour certification as an Ayuryoga® Wellness Consultant with Maria Garre and Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
